For more than a decade, we have worked with one of the world’s largest providers of holiday accommodations. Schotpoort Logistics plays an important role in the holiday bungalow conversion process. On the one hand by providing standard logistics services, and on the other by going the extra mile where necessary.
Our client’s challenge
“About once every 7 years, all the bungalows at each bungalow park have to be refurbished. Within this process, we work with many different parties. The furniture and equipment are ordered from different suppliers, warehousing is provided by another third party, and within the refurbishment process, we work with a specialised removal company. In practice, we find it difficult to keep an overview of the whole operation and manage all processes. Communication with the various parties takes a lot of time, and the lack of proper IT systems means we do not have a good insight into our stocks.”
Our solution
As a dedicated logistics service provider, we ensure that we achieve the highest value for money in achieving your objectives. For the client in the above scenario, we perform a control tower function and are the central point of contact. We also take care of transport and warehousing. Our people ensure that the old furniture is removed from the bungalows and the new furniture is placed in the bungalows during the refurbishment process.
In addition, our people – according to our customer’s contract – take care of stock management and order new furniture and other equipment such as televisions as soon as the working stock reaches the minimum level. The result? Our client can safely concentrate on its core business and has full control over the entire refurbishment process, all at a fair price!
