History of the company banner

Eerbeek was and still is the centre of the Dutch paper industry. And it was here that our founder Bartus Schotpoort started making his first transports by horse and cart for the many paper mills in the region in 1934. His motto was to “always stand beside the client,” a guiding principle that drives Schotpoort Logistics to this day. Under the leadership of the third generation, the family company has become an international transport company in the truest sense of the word.

“…satisfied customers are the foundation for an even better future…”

Founder Bartus Schotpoort

Founding of Expeditie B. Schotpoort en Zn.

“Always stand beside the client” by ensuring on-time deliveries as agreed and daring to come up with unconventional solutions. This was the founding principle of Expedition B. Schotpoort and Zn. and continues to drive the company’s continued growth and expansion.

2007 & 2008

New step for Schotpoort

The capacity of the Eerbeek warehouse was literally expanded to 35,000 pallets and state-of-the-art technology and software were introduced.

The global economic crisis came to affect all sectors, including logistics. Schotpoort experienced a major reorientation in terms of its strategy, structure and organisation.

Schotpoort expands abroad

Our activities in Europe grew significantly, leading to the establishment of UAB FJB Transportas in Kaunas, Lithuania.

Expansion of our warehousing

To further our partnership with safety shoe producer Bata Industrials, we opened a 4,000 m2 warehouse in Best to facilitate on-site warehousing and further streamline the company’s logistics processes.

Growth of our fleet

Strong growth led to the purchase of 140 new Krone trailers.

Strengthening our relationship with DJP De Hoop

Schotpoort had been working with De Jong Paper de Hoop for several years, but assumed full responsibility for its logistics processes in 2017.

Increased capacity through the realisation of high bay warehouse

Schotpoort builds a 4,200 m2 semi-automatic high bay warehouse at Coldenhovenseweg, expanding its total storage capacity to approximately 64,000 m2.

Streamlining internal communications

With routing, transport management and warehouse management processes having become largely automated, Schotpoort began using COMTO’s online communication app to ensure clear and efficient communication across its operations.

Warehousing in Wapenveld

With the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, several sectors were strongly affected. Nevertheless, Schotpoort was still able to open a new 3,000 m2 warehouse in Wapenveld that put us much closer to one of our major clients in Heerde.

Extra multipurpose storage in Zutphen

In Zutphen, we have opened a multiclient warehouse of 8,000m2, bringing our total available warehouse capacity to over 70,000m2.

… And beyond

Future plans

We expect steady growth in the future, all carefully planned, just as one would expect from a solid family business like Schotpoort.
