History
Eerbeek was and still is the centre of the Dutch paper industry. And it was here that our founder Bartus Schotpoort started making his first transports by horse and cart for the many paper mills in the region in 1934. His motto was to “always stand beside the client,” a guiding principle that drives Schotpoort Logistics to this day. Under the leadership of the third generation, the family company has become an international transport company in the truest sense of the word.

Founding of Expeditie B. Schotpoort en Zn.
“Always stand beside the client” by ensuring on-time deliveries as agreed and daring to come up with unconventional solutions. This was the founding principle of Expedition B. Schotpoort and Zn. and continues to drive the company’s continued growth and expansion.
1988
Proud opening of first warehouse, in Eerbeek
Schotpoort opened its first warehouse to make its transport, storage and distribution services even more efficient.
2003
The new generation takes the lead
The third generation of the Schotpoort family, Fred and his two cousins Jeroen and Bert acquire all of the shares in the company and assume management responsibility.

2005
Creation of Schotpoort Supply Chain Solutions
The establishment of Schotpoort Supply Chain Solutions gave a powerful boost to our client focus.
2007 & 2008
New step for Schotpoort
The capacity of the Eerbeek warehouse was literally expanded to 35,000 pallets and state-of-the-art technology and software were introduced.
2009
Reorientation
The global economic crisis came to affect all sectors, including logistics. Schotpoort experienced a major reorientation in terms of its strategy, structure and organisation.
2011
Schotpoort expands abroad
Our activities in Europe grew significantly, leading to the establishment of UAB FJB Transportas in Kaunas, Lithuania.
2015
Expansion of our warehousing
To further our partnership with safety shoe producer Bata Industrials, we opened a 4,000 m2 warehouse in Best to facilitate on-site warehousing and further streamline the company’s logistics processes.
2016 & 2017
Growth of our fleet
Strong growth led to the purchase of 140 new Krone trailers.
2017
Strengthening our relationship with DJP De Hoop
Schotpoort had been working with De Jong Paper de Hoop for several years, but assumed full responsibility for its logistics processes in 2017.
2019
Increased capacity through the realisation of high bay warehouse
Schotpoort builds a 4,200 m2 semi-automatic high bay warehouse at Coldenhovenseweg, expanding its total storage capacity to approximately 64,000 m2.
2020
Streamlining internal communications
With routing, transport management and warehouse management processes having become largely automated, Schotpoort began using COMTO’s online communication app to ensure clear and efficient communication across its operations.
2021
Warehousing in Wapenveld
With the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, several sectors were strongly affected. Nevertheless, Schotpoort was still able to open a new 3,000 m2 warehouse in Wapenveld that put us much closer to one of our major clients in Heerde.
2022
Extra multipurpose storage in Zutphen
In Zutphen, we have opened a multiclient warehouse of 8,000m2, bringing our total available warehouse capacity to over 70,000m2.
