With this article, we would like to inform you about the approaching changes in the German toll rates and the German toll road network. In the short term, the toll road network in Germany will be expanded to include all German Bundesstrassen, and from the 1st of January 2019, there will be a substantial increase in toll rates for freight traffic throughout Germany.
From 15,300km to 40,000km of toll roads.
Soon, the German toll road network will no longer consist of only the German Autobahn. As of the 1st of July 2018, freight traffic will also have to pay tolls on the so-called Bundesstrassen – the access roads to the motorways and urban centres.

On the 17th of May 2018, the German government decided that the toll for trucks will be significantly increased from the 1st of January 2019. The toll rates on German roads will increase by 20 to 60% depending on the vehicle used.
What does this change mean for you?
Specifically, the changes to the German toll are expected to lead to an increase in transport tariffs on routes from, through and into Germany within the entire transport market.
