The silver EcoVadis rating signifies that Schotpoort Logistics may count itself among the 25% best-performing companies when it comes to corporate social responsibility, and that is an achievement we are proud to show off!
EcoVadis is an independent, internationally recognized platform for sustainability assessments, and is responsible for the annual assessment of around 75,000 companies on various CSR themes.
At Schotpoort Logistics we think it is important to be conscious of our impact on the environment and our surroundings. In 2019 This mindset moved us to start participating in the EcoVadis programme. Every year, we have EcoVadis assess us on the CSR themes of Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. Based on the results and recommendations from EcoVadis, we set new targets to develop the various sustainability themes in the following year. In this way, we ensure a continuous CSR monitoring and improvement process.
In concrete terms, this has led to us being rewarded with a silver EcoVadis rating at the end of 2020 by scoring better than 88% of all rated companies, quite an improvement on our bronze rating from 2019.
Of course, we are not there yet! We have already set our sights on the sustainability goals for the upcoming year. For example, we are going to map our carbon footprint per shipment and try to reduce it to a minimum, and secure our procurement strategy even more, for us to always be able to guarantee that the parties we work with meet the standards, values, and quality we expect from our partners.
